How long does it take a lawyer to settle a Sell and Purchase Agreement? Is there a guideline for the lawyer its charges?
On the basis that the “sell and purchase agreement” you mentioned is for the sale and purchase of real property, the duration for a lawyer to settle completely on the sale and purchase depends on the clauses in the sale and purchase agreement. Under a sub sale of property scenario, the normal scenario is 3 months extendable to further 1 month depends on the circumstances.
As such, the lawyers are bound by the scale of fees under Solicitors Remuneration Order 2005 for the remuneration they charge against their clients, which is based on the value of the property. You may find the said Order as per the link here:
