Scenario

Alvin owns a condominium in Kuala Lumpur. He plans to rent out his condominium on a short term basis. However, he was advised that the management body shall have the rights to block his tenants entering the condominium.
Is that true?

Mythbusted.

Management body’s function is to maintain and manage the building and common property in accordance with the Strata Management Act, 2013. So long as you and your tenants do not breach any by-laws and additional by-laws of management body, the management body has no rights to interfere you and/or your tenants from entering the condominium. If they block your tenants from entering the condominium for no reason or unreasonably, you may file a claim to Strata Management Tribunal.
