Scenario

Leon registered his business as sole proprietor. After some years in business, he has customers from overseas too. He heard that he needs to register another company under Sdn Bhd to do export trading. Is that true?

Mythbusted.

A sole proprietor registered under the Companies Commission of Malaysia “CCM” (Suruhanjaya Syarikat Malaysia “SSM”) may carry out export trading subject to his/her procurement of the necessary approval and license from the relevant authority such as Ministry of International Trade Industry “MITI” and/or Dagang Net.
