Scenario
Divorce no matter how amicable, it is always difficult especially when large amount of money and other valuable assets are put front. An example can be seen when Tiger Woods and Elin Nordegren went through their highly-public divorce, Woods’s net worth was cut in half, when his wife was granted equal division of his wealth. Does this law apply in Malaysia?
Mythbusted.
The former spouse is not entitled to half the wealth of the other spouse in Malaysia! Instead the law in Malaysia suggests that UNLESS he/she can prove that there was contribution made onto the asset/assets or it was mutually consented the likelihood the former spouse can get anything is nil.
