Scenario

Uncle Jim and Aunt Helen are staying in a leasehold apartment in KL for years. Nonetheless, they were informed that after the tenure of their leasehold apartment expires, they will need to move out from their apartment and there is no way for them to extend the lease.

Mythbusted.

Some of the leasehold properties are entitled for the extension of lease after their tenure expires. The owner of the leasehold property will have to make an application for an extension of lease before its expiry and pay for a certain amount of premium.
Nevertheless, the leasehold property can be reverted back to the Government in the event the Government needs to acquire the land for national development.
