Vivian has recently joint purchase a house with her brother, Jason whereby Vivian is the sole borrower in financing the housing loan. Unfortunately, Vivian finds herself in financial difficulties and Jason wishes to utilize his EPF Account II to help his sister to settle the remaining loan sum. However, Vivian told Jason that he is not eligible to withdraw his EPF fund due to he is not the borrower in financing the house. Is this true?

Under the Withdrawal guideline set by KWSP, Jason is eligible to withdraw his EPF Account II to reduce or redeem the housing loan balance with approved financial institution even if he is not the borrower.
Nonetheless, he has to prove his relationship with Vivian by submitting the supporting documents such as birth certificate for the withdrawal purpose.
