Scenario

Rex wishes to register a society. He was informed that the only available way to register is that he has to manually submit his application for registration at the Registry of Societies (ROS) office for registration. Is that true?

Mythbusted.

Effective from 13 January 2013, ROS has implemented eRoses system which enables anyone to submit their application for registration and the result will be informed within 5 working days. Thus, Rex need not go through the hassles of traveling to ROS office. Instead, Rex can create an eRoses account in www.eroses.gov.my and fill up details of his setting up along with making a payment of RM30.00 as registration fee. To add up conveniences to its users, the eRoses system also provides facilities for registered society to establish branches, file annual returns and amendment on constitutions.
